Instructions for Hanging a Wall Water Fountain

Wall fountains can enhance any room. Peace and calmness will fill the room due to the soothing sound of the waterfall. People tend to place their wall fountains in foyers, but, in fact, they can be a wonderful addition to any room where everyone meets. How to mount one varies a bit depending on the model, but there are some general guidelines that apply to all of them. Note that different parts will need to be put together during assembly. It will be necessary to connect the pump and tubing, and the base will need to be attached to the top section. Be sure to review the instruction manual before starting to ensure it is done correctly. Generally, it is quick and easy.

Note, however, that the instructions for your individual model can vary a bit. The easiest way to make sure it is positioned correctly is to get another person to hold it where you want it while you mark the wall. A level is the best tool to ensure it is installed correctly. Both the top and the bottom should be marked. Your wall fountain can be installed using one of two methods. You can insert the screws in the wall and slide them into the holes on the back of the wall fountain. A second option is use brackets installed on the wall. This last one is the more advisable technique, specifically if your fountain is large. Determine where the brackets need to be located and mark the wall accordingly. Bore pilot holes in the wall where you need to place the drywall anchors. Insert the anchors by carefully hammering them into the wall. Use a cordless drill or a screwdriver to install the brackets, making sure they are level. The wall fountain is ready to be mounted onto the brackets. Check to be sure it is both secure and level. Add water once the wall fountain is mounted. There will need to be adequate water to cover the water pump.

Plug the pump into the wall and see the water begin to move. The water should fill the basin to within one inch of the upper end. Be attentive not to fill it completely to the top or it will overflow when you switch off the pump. The water level will rise because all of the circulating water will settle down at the bottom of the basin. When the fountain is overly full, water can spill out and cause damage to the nearby area.

Fountains: An Invitation for Your Cherished Pets and Visiting Birds

Anyone who has bird feeders knows that outdoor water features bring in wildlife. Drinking, washing, and grooming are some of the things birds need to do.

Birds such as robins, thrushes, orioles, or warblers are usually enticed to the active water of fountains. While bowl-shaped bird baths can be dull to many birds, fountains are more inviting because of the moving water they generate. Trickling fountains which spatter water have a more detectable sound, this attracting even more birds.

As dog owners will agree these outdoor fountains are a great water source for the four-legged creatures. Hot days cause dogs and cats to anxiously look for the freshest water around. Constantly flowing water is also going to require much less cleaning than a still bowl of water from a birdbath, which collects debris.
