The Splendid Santa Maria in Cosmedin Water Fountain in Rome

Both Christian and pagan articles have been found in large quantities by archaeologists and restorers searching the area of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome. The Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth} is a famed marble sculpture found at the entrance of the nearby basilica. Built in 1719, the Santa Maria in Cosmedin water fountain was not well known and located far from sight making it hard to visit. It was said that there was very little to see in this area, as it was abject and abandoned making it an unfriendly place to visit. It was then that the Italian architect Carlo Bizzaccheri was mandated by Pope Clement XI to build a water fountain in the square outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in an effort to make the area more popular. The job of laying down the church’s foundation started on August 17, 1717. The first stone to be placed in the foundation was consecrated and medallions bearing the illustrations of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water, were also thrown in.

Installing a Wall Water Element in Your Residence

Enhance virtually any space with the addition of a wall fountain. A waterfall will bring a sensation of tranquility with the comforting sounds of trickling water. People tend to hang wall fountains in any space where folks meet, but most commonly in entryways. Although each model might have slight differences on how to hang it, the basic instructions are the same for all. There are usually several parts that need to be put together. You should first attach the base to the upper portion, then connect the pump and the tubing. The directions should be read first to make sure it is put together correctly. It is normally a quick and easy procedure. Keep in mind, though, that each style might require a slight change. Do not hesitate to get someone to assist you to keep the wall fountain in the right spot while you make a tiny mark on the wall. The simplest way to ensure it is installed correctly is to use a level. Mark the spot where you want the very top of the wall fountain as well as the bottom. Your wall fountain can be installed in one of two ways. The first is to utilize screws which you slide right into the slots on the back. Alternatively, brackets can be fixed to the wall. The bracket option is best, specifically for wall fountains that are big and heavy. Decide where the brackets need to be placed and mark the wall as required. Use a drill to make the pilot holes on the wall for the drywall anchors. Place the anchors in the wall with a hammer. Hold the brackets in place on the wall and use a wireless drill or screwdriver to affix them. The wall fountain is ready to be fitted onto the brackets. Check to see that it is in the correct position and safely on the brackets. When you are sure the unit is secure, fill with water.

Make sure there is enough water to cover the pump. It is now time to plug it in and watch the water flow. The water basin should be filled to about an inch below the top end. Do not fill the basin all the way to the top or it will overflow when the pump is not on. Whenever the water is not being pumped, it all settles at the bottom part which causes the water level to rise. Whenever there is too much water, it will spill out and can harm your floor and furniture.
