In commemoration of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebration, she was mandated by the late 11th Duke of Devonshire to produce a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth designed of brass and steel in 2004. One of Chatsworth’s oldest ponds, Jack Pond, had “Revelation” installed in it in 1999. Taking on the shape of four large petals that open and close with the circulation of water, the metal fountain alternatively conceals and displays a golden globe at the center of the sculpture. A gold dust decorated steel globe was made and added into the large sculpture standing five meters high and five meters in width. The flower petals move depending on the circulation of water, making this installation an interesting addition to the Gardens of Chatsworth.
